Artist’s Statement

We Salute Our Heroes by Patricia Tiffany Morris

In a world of increasing interest in anime and comic books filled with superhuman characters, I marvel at the everyday people in my life who are superheroes in troubling times of my life. As an artist, I don’t draw people or expressions well, but the written word fascinates and pulls me into a story I paint with words. Writing down as many heroes as I could think of during the worldwide pandemic prompted me to create a digital mixed-media word canvas. If you look closely, perhaps I have your name—your profession—hidden within the layers of digital papers, lace, and the screen of your tablet. If you care for those in the COVID-19 battle, you are my hero. You are a kind, selfless, human being and I know God must be blessed to see such sacrifice. Well done. And thanks, from all of us

Patricia Tiffany Morris is an artsy Christian creative with a geeky-tech affinity, poet with three names, aspiring writer of fiction and picture books, and artist of alcohol-ink paintings, acrylics, mixed media and digital art. She starts too many projects. Patricia graduated with two degrees in architecture in the 80s while continuing personal journaling and creative ventures. She adores hashtags and Pinterest but finds Twitter quirky. A member of Word Weavers International, ACFW, WFWA, SCBWI, and loads of FB groups, Patricia Tiffany gravitates toward inspirational messages of hope in her art and life, and encourages others to find their inner artist. Check out her journaling series called Journaling Scribbles: A Color-Coded Series for Creativity and Planning, available this summer and fall as her first self-published venture.
